This dog is on our Call to Action List because she has been returned from three separate adoptions for being defensive, growling, and overly protective in the home. At the shelter, Molly is relatively easy to handle and can be walked easily by volunteers. We think a quiet home with an experienced adopter, or transfer to a rescue group who can provide Molly with training would be the most suitable types of placement for miss Molly. VCAS may be able to provide support with training!

UPDATE 4/9: Dog has become higher urgency. We have done our last plea to rescue partners who may be able to provide support and training outside of the shelter environment. We are asking for a response by Monday 4/13.

Molly has continued to display pretty severe behavior displays when on leash with whoever is handling her - she lunges, vocalizes, and attempts to bite. We hoped this behavior wouldn't escalate here at the shelter, but now that it has she is not safe to manage in this environment and modifying reactivity in a shelter is extremely challenging, often unsuccessful, and risky.

We need to find her a committed adopter or rescue ASAP.
