At Ventura County Animal Services, transparency is a core value. This section provides statistics on the thousands of animals entering our shelters each year.

We publish two reports each month:

  • Asilomar Report – Tracks intake and outcome data for dogs and cats, including an average live release rate.
  • Monthly Report – A one-page summary with additional metrics on shelter operations and programs.

Annual Reports

We apologize for the delay in posting our 2026 statistics.  We’re in the process of updating the report format to make it easier to compare current data with the same time period from the previous year.  We’re also adding a new “Community Services” section highlighting the great work we’re doing through our new Mobile Vet Clinic and Monthly Vaccine Clinics.  This section will include the number of community spay/neuter surgeries (including TNR), vaccinations, microchips, and the amount of food distributed.
