Axel loves walks in the park and practicing commands for treats. He already knows sit, shake, and down. He would prefer a home without small animals, but may be open to a doggie sibling of similar size.

ID: A682189 Axel is an independent, laid back gentleman. He’s been at the shelter for over a year and a half ?? Unfortunately, we think Axel is overlooked due to his age. We have over 30 huskies in our care and oftentimes folks opt for a younger model. 🙁 Another added factor is that he can sometimes be a little protective over his food and toys! Our shelter volunteers are working on training with him, and we feel behavior is very manageable in a home with adults. We don’t think Axel deserves to spend live in the shelter because of something that just takes a little extra intention to work on. ??

Axel is known around the shelter for being a laid-back walker and his love for treats… since his arrival he’s lost 40lbs, and is getting closer to a healthy weight! In previous homes Axel has shown that without regular exercise he can sometimes be a naughty guy… who would’ve thought!? His dream home would be one with no small animals where he gets lots of walks, he is not left alone with a stuffie bc he WILL eat it, and his people are otherwise happy to let him be a bit of an independent guy. ??
