Freki is a 5-year-old gem of a dog! This sweet girl loves other dogs and cats—she lived with a senior husky mix and two kitties, and they were reported to have adored each other. The cats would rub up on her, and they often slept near one another. Her previous owners described her as moderate energy. She can be shy with new people, but she’s a total doll once she warms up. Freki is crate trained, house trained, and knows the cues: sit, lay down, stay, come, and shake. She walks nicely on leash. She wasn’t allowed on the furniture in her last home, so if you prefer dogs to sleep on their own beds, she’s ready to fit right in! (Or if you’re a couch-snuggler, she’s happy to adapt to your rules.) She’s used to being left alone for 4–8 hours a day and reportedly had no problem behaviors when left inside or outside. Freki isn’t the biggest fan of toys, but she’ll eagerly learn tricks for treats, loves to play in water, enjoys chase/keep-away, and a bit of wrestling. Her flaws? Her owners said she’s clumsy, has a very piercing bark, and flinches at nothing (hey, none of us are perfect). But they also said she’s great with kids, loves to lay at your feet, and enjoys a good run.
