<strong data-start=\"340\" data-end=\"359\">Shelter Support<\/strong> tasks, which are essential to daily operations and animal care.<\/p><p data-start=\"425\" data-end=\"459\"><strong>Shelter Support Tasks Include:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Click for Quiet<\/em> (positive training for dogs)<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dishwashing<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Filling treat buckets<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laundry<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Poop Patrol\u00a0(hosing kennels)<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preparing and providing daily enrichment and experiences for dogs and cats<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sorting donations<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spending supervised outside-of-kennel time with contributing <strong data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"908\">four (4) or more hours<\/strong> of Shelter Support and becoming familiar with the shelter environment, volunteers may train for additional application.)<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transporting animals<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1980\"><strong data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1980\">Animal handling and certain other roles require additional training and are limited to volunteers who meet minimum requirements.<\/strong><\/p><h2 data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2029\">Volunteer Requirements<\/h2><p data-start=\"2031\" data-end=\"2052\"><strong>Age Requirements:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>The minimum volunteer age is 13. \u00a0Those under 13 are encouraged to participate in our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/animalservices.venturacounty.gov\/tl\/rescuereaders\/\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/animalservices.venturacounty.gov\/rescuereaders\/\">Rescue Readers<\/a> program until they are old enough to volunteer.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volunteers 13\u201315 must apply with an adult volunteer partner. \u00a0They must also submit applications, train, and volunteer together at all times.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volunteers under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A parent or guardian must attend First Day Training with volunteers under 18.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2532\" data-end=\"2559\"><strong>Community Expectations:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"2562\" data-end=\"2631\">Volunteers must treat animals and people with kindness and respect and must work well with others.<\/li><li data-start=\"2634\" data-end=\"2716\">Volunteers must be willing to accept guidance, feedback, and coaching as needed.<\/li><li data-start=\"2719\" data-end=\"2787\">Volunteers must be adaptable to changing guidelines and protocols.<\/li><li data-start=\"2790\" data-end=\"2893\">Volunteers must adhere to all Volunteer Policies and the Code of Conduct outlined in the application.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2895\" data-end=\"2915\"><strong>Time Commitment:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"2918\" data-end=\"2982\">While there is no required monthly minimum for general volunteering, we kindly ask that those who sign up for our popular First Day Training class, that you do so with the intention of volunteering\u00a0<em>once a week<\/em> for a minimum of<em> dalawang (2) oras<\/em> for at least <em>three (3) months<\/em>.<\/li><li somewhat stressful conditions, thus any handling requires special training to ensure safe handling, and a general knowledge of how our agency works and where most things can be located.\u00a0 To that end, we require new volunteers to attend First Day Training <strong>at<\/strong> do a minimum of <strong>four (4) hours<\/strong> of Shelter Support tasks before taking their first animal handling class.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-6484\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"button\" project-based activities and not activities involving the handling of animals. \u00a0 The typical visit lasts 90 minutes, and consists of a tour, a service activity, and a supervised visit with a friendly animal.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many visiting groups, especially from businesses, often bring a donation or donated items for our animals.\u00a0 Groups interested in bringing items
