Ventura County has an abundance of wildlife, including mountain lions, bobcats, foxes and coyotes. \u00a0These predators roam our hills along with skunks, opossums, and raccoons.\u00a0 Some of these visitors are frequent guests in our neighborhoods. \u00a0We must\u00a0coexist\u00a0with these creatures as we<\/i>\u00a0are the intruders into their<\/i> habitat.<\/p>

TRAPPING: \u00a0Trapping and relocating does not solve the problem of wildlife who encroach on our property. \u00a0Removing animals creates a void inviting others to move in. \u00a0Wild animals who are caught in a trap must be released at, or very near to, the location from which they originated. \u00a0Ventura County Animal Services responds only to calls of injured or at-risk wildlife. \u00a0Our department is prohibited by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife from picking up and\/or relocating healthy wildlife.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    1. The animal is brought to you by a dog or cat.<\/li>\n
    2. There is evidence of bleeding.<\/li>\n
    3. The animal has an apparent\/obvious broken limb.<\/li>\n
    4. A bird is featherless or nearly featherless and on the ground.<\/li>\n
    5. The animal is shivering.<\/li>\n
    6. There’s a dead animal parent nearby.<\/li>\n
    7. The animal is crying and wandering all day.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
